5 Pins I Tried Last Month April 2018

Who else is excited for Spring?!?!  I really can’t wait for the warm weather!  Spring is my favorite time of the year for starting new projects.

During the winter it’s always so cold that I just kind of hibernate like a bear lol.  I only leave the warmth of my home when necessary.

With Spring coming I need to get it in gear though and start working out my new posting schedule for my blog.  Pinterest is always where I go for new ideas.

Out of all the pins I found these are the 5 that I tried last month.  Let me know if you try any of them!  Leave a comment below and tell me how it went!

Pinterest Pin #5 – How to Start a Bullet Journal

I had never heard of a bullet journal before I came across this pin.  I was actually looking for ideas on how to get organized with my blog.

I wanted to be better at creating a schedule and sticking to it.  That way my blog stays updated for my readers and I could manage my personal life too.

When I saw this pin I just knew I had to make a bullet journal.  I thought it was a great idea for my 8-year-old son, Jaden, too.  He has ADHD and he needs help staying on task.

He is really creative and loves to write.  He has been wanting to write posts for my blog lol.  When I told him he could create a bullet journal with me he was excited.

Pinterest Pin #4 – Cheesecake Factory Carrot Cake Cheesecake

I was looking for a good carrot cake recipe to try for Easter this year.  I scored a new bunny silicone mold at Aldi and I was dying to try it out.

I knew I wanted to make my own recipe but I wasn’t too familiar with carrot cakes.  I have made 1 or 2 in the past but it has been a long time.

I got the idea that I wanted to add chocolate chips to it and then I came across the following pin.

I decided I would use it for my base and then find another recipe to use for the cream cheese frosting.

Then all I had to do was add the chocolate chips and I had a new recipe!  Click here to see the carrot cake recipe I created for Easter.

Pinterest Pin #2 – Peanut Butter Coconut Oil Dog Treats

My little dachshund, Zoey, has been having some itchy, dry skin issues lately.  I know coconut oil is great for that so  I wanted to add it to her diet.

There are numerous benefits of coconut oil in dogs of all ages.  I wanted to make the treats where I could easily give them to Zoey and my new mini schnauzer pup, Elliot.

The recommended dosage is 1 tsp per 10 lb of body weight from I found after researching several other blog posts on the topic.

The following pin is the recipe I used to make mine.  It was the first recipe I found that actually got the coconut oil measured correctly in the treats.

They also happen to be using the same silicone mold that I was going to use for mine.

When I created my version of this recipe I left out the cinnamon and I doubled the ingredients.  Make sure to subscribe to my newsletter below to be notified when I publish the recipe!
